The Ghoul-Haunted Woodland:
A Poe Themed Tour of St. John's Graveyard
Join Education Programs Manager Dean Knight on a lyrical tour around the graveyard at St. John's, focusing on the life and work of Edgar Allan Poe on the anniversary of his birth. Knight, an award-winning local actor who served seven years as the Programs Coordinator at the Poe Museum, is the author of a chapter in the new book More Than Love: The Enduring Fascination with Edgar Allan Poe, available in the St. John's Church gift shop.
Knight will tell stories about Poe's mother and employer--both buried here--interspersed with details from Poe's life and about some of the cemetery's other residents. He will also deliver recitations from some of Poe's greatest poems, including "The Conqueror Worm", "Annabel Lee", "The Raven", and "Ulalume".
